How NUIRA reads stress
Stress shows up in the body before the mind admits it. Heart rate variability drops, resting heart rate creeps up, breathing quickens and sleep gets lighter.
The NUIRA Band reads those signals continuously. In the background the app tracks how much strain has built up over time and how well you are recovering, and shows a daily resonance score with trend lines week over week.
Recovery, read against the day you had
Sleep is where most recovery happens. The Band reads light, deep and REM sleep through the night, and the app reads what the night gave back against the strain you carried into it. Sleep debt resets gently rather than following you around.
Movement counts too, but as a way to work off the day's load rather than a scoreboard: running, cycling, lifting, yoga, swimming and the ordinary walking in between.
What you do with it
- A resonance breathing session when strain has built up, which measures itself so you can see whether it reached you.
- A body scan, a breathing exercise or a nature soundscape from the library.
- An easier day, when your body says it needs one, without guilt.
- A reflection in your journal, which becomes context for what you are offered later.
Awen offers one of these, or nothing at all. Sometimes the kindest support is saying nothing.
Built for shift work
For people on rotating shifts, call-outs and long stretches without proper sleep, a single night's score is not much use. What helps is the trend, and a check on the day itself. NUIRA Alert is a three minute readiness check that compares you against your own rested normal, read together with your sleep, strain and recovery.
NUIRA is a wellness platform. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you are worried about your health, talk to a doctor.
